  • Ch 1.
  • For each corner (repeat 3 times per side):
    • Sc in next 2 sts, dec (sc 2 together), repeat to finish 3 sets; this decreases each corner by 1 st.
  • Sc in all side sts as usual.
  • Continue markers as needed.

Rounds 14–18:

  • Ch 1, sc in each st around.
  • Continue straight rounds with no increases or decreases (about 46 sts/round).

Finishing the Body

  • Last edge round:
    • Work one round of slip stitch in BLO to form a neat bag edge.

Purse Flap

  1. Chain 14 for the starting width.
  2. Row 1:
    • Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across for 12 sc.
    • Work 3 sc in last ch for corner.

    • Do not join in the round.
  3. Each row:
    • Ch 1, turn.

  1. Join contrast (white) yarn at start of flap.
  2. Ch 2, in same st: tr (triple crochet), tr in same st.
  3. For every remaining flap st:
    • (tr, tr, tr) in each st across for the ruffled edge.
  4. At final st: tr, tr (2 total), ch 2, sl st to finish off.

  5. Weave in the ends on the underside. Cut any excess.

Assembly
